stocks were hit by lowered earnings outlooks on
IBM, Microsoft, and Peoplesoft.

Dow closed lower as investors worried about continued
violence in the Middle East.

Wal-Mart
closed lower after UBS Warburg downgraded it to
a "buy" after reporting less than stellar
sales data for the week ending Saturday. Merrill
Lynch also downgraded some retailing stocks on fears
their recent spectacular run might be nearing its
end.

Federated
Department Stores lost 3.77% after stating that
its same-store sales for the week ending Saturday
was less than its expectations.

Digital
River lost 52.06% after lowering its fiscal Q1 outlook
due to poor demand for e-commerce software.

Adelphia
Communications lost 11.95% today after announcing
that it has asked the SEC for more time before filing
its annual report.

Epiphany
lost 6.61% after announcing that a major customer
for its Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
is re-evaluating its needs for CRM - Epiphany thinks
this might lead to lower earnings and revenue.

Sierra
Pacific Resources lost 39.63% after Merrill Lynch
and Goldman Sachs downgraded it.
-
Sportsman's
Guide gained 18.60% after raising its fiscal Q1
outlook.

Semiconductor
shares gained after the current worldwide semiconductor
billing was shown to be increasing mostly in the
Americas and Asia Pacific (excluding Japan).

hours trading after reporting that trials for its

Jobless Claims for weekending March 23rd. rose a

US Gross Domestic product (GDP) growth for Q4 2001
was revised upward to a growth of 1.7%.

The Conference Board reported that its Help Wanted
Index, a good measure of blue collar employee demand,

Ltd gained 92.46% after the FDA approved its "Personal
Hemodialysis System" for home kidney dialysis.

Adelphia
Communications lost 10.78% after Salomon Smith Barney
cut its price target on the stock as its off-balance
sheet and debt concerns continue.

Nvidia
lost 2.51% despite denying a Taiwanese business
newspaper report that it is having problems with
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, and it might
cause Nvidia to miss its outlook. Nvidia reiterated

Networks gained 5.87% today as analysts expected
its fiscal Q1 earnings warning late yesterday. Sonus

lost 1.67% after CS First Boston initiated coverage
of it with a "hold" recommendation.

Plc. of the UK.
